My iMac has been doing naughty things to me lately, such as shutting off on me in the middle of heavy processes.
I took it to the MAC store to find solution to my problem, but that solution would cost a minimum of $600. So instead I decided to diagnose my iMac myself. Here is what happened.
First I had to start of the iMac expedition with the Cheeky Fat Bastard wine. It really calms the hands and focuses the mind. It also gives you a really good buzz, which is good for the moral >:)
So after the removal of all screws small and a couple of void warranty devices, I reached the heart of the iMac. So basically I just looked really closely at all of the parts to see if anything was a miss or perhaps too much dust had gathered… but I couldn’t find anything. SO I drank some more wine and kept searching until I noticed a tiny little burn mark on my iMac showed in the next image.
YES! A clue as to why my iMac has been failing on me. unfortunately I do not know what it means…. so I took pictures of it to post online on multiple forum sites so that some one smarter than I can help me figure it out.
Here is one more establishing picture of the damage.
